Foresters are concerned with the availability of sufficient pure
water for people and industries, timber for construction, pulpwood
for paper production, wildlife and parks for recreation, and trees
to beautify landscapes.
For a successful forestry career, several
personal qualities are desirable:
- an ethical concern for natural
resources and enjoyment of nature;
- an analytical mind to cope with
complex biological systems and with complex economic, financial,
and social problems;
- creative abilities for solving
technological problems;
- ability to communicate with the
public and to supervise employees.
